Does anyone know if it is illegal to drive without a hood?

I found a Silver hood in Massachusetts for pretty cheap, but I would need to drive out there without a hood, pick it up, install it, and drive back (maybe visit my friend in NYC while I'm at it).

Just wondering if anyone knows the legality of it. I know it will kill gas mileage because of the extra drag.

i whould say if it was in ohio its ok to do... but all the way to MS i dunno bro...better to take a truck? or a suv?

I am guessing you'd get stopped for it, just stick to back roads. :)

i had a VW bug that i drove for 6 months without a hood in CA no problems. I would go for it, and explain that you are picking up the hood.

As far as I know down here, there are no laws against it, but NY is a whole diff. beast when it comes to laws. I would check, but I wouldn't think there are any safety issues with driving without a hood.?????
