can anybody help me. I need to find a use engine or short block for my 05 mazda 3s 2.3l can anybody out there help?

it is from a mazda 6, but it is all the same stuff.
You maybe able to use a focus or Ranger bottom end too. I don't remember... you would have to check. I know the 6i guys have used focus parts.

The trans has nothing to do with the engine. The harness, however, might be different. You can mate an engine to any transmission, and more times than none, the manual transmission's harness is the same as the ATX but with a bunch of empty plugs (or vice versa).
AS far as finding an engine, try car-parts.com. It will give you a listing of all the junkyards in the area (and w/e miles around you as you please) and what they have for you.

IMO, get a new engine from the dealer, or figure out what's wrong with your engine and replace it. The later is the cheapest option.
