do you have to get an alignment for takin off all 4 wheels or not? well i'm out. i'll get responses in the morn. :)

functional or not I like it... but then again, a lot of things on my car classifies as rice, so my opinion doesn't count....lol

GMalatrasi
09-16-2007, 01:14 AM
Bald tires + tight/unexpected turn + wet patch at apex + no ABS(although I did try to pump the brakes) = hit a curb, and a fiberglass light pole, and destroyed the left front everything

09-16-2007, 02:20 AM
yeah im fine, at least physically. I'm not sure about the rest.
As bad as I feel now, I dont think it's sunk in fully yet.
And it's all my fault.
...Damn I need a time machine!!!
I am sorry this happen man...from the looks of the pictures it is a P5 no more..I hope whatever you may get in the future Mazda or not you'll stay family here at SUF. and on a side note if you do chose to get another Mazda call SU they can give you some numbers to call regarding good pricing.

PurrfectAngel
09-17-2007, 01:21 PM
It's fixable.... you are ok and that's the main thing, so even though she needs some *cough* minor surgury she's still fixable :D
*puts thinking cap on*............project car?? ;)
How much damage underneath?
GMalatrasi
09-17-2007, 07:39 PM
Well it was dark so I didnt get a good look but:
-left front suspension gone
-fender gone
-bumper gone
-hood bent
-transmission locked/broke
-oil pan crushed
-both left side doors bent, dented, scratched, etc
-windshield broken
-airbags deployed
-radiator broken
-countless other components under the hood broken
In other words, it's most likely totaled.
I just hope that I can take the aftermarket stuff out to reuse on the new car.
PurrfectAngel
09-18-2007, 11:45 AM
Yes, you're probably right, everything is fixable though so you can definitely still do a project car with it:) Do you have another vehicle to drive for now? Any thoughts on the future beast?
GMalatrasi
09-18-2007, 01:25 PM
I'm using my roommate's truck for now, I need to get my bike running...
I'm pretty sure I'll just get another P5 (manual this time around) and continue where I left off on this one, since I already have all the parts bought.
PurrfectAngel
09-18-2007, 02:29 PM
That's the spirit. Most people wouldn't go for the same vehicle again but it's a P5, they're addictive and yes for sure get a 5spd. Well on the bright side...at least you'll have lots of spare parts and a head start on the new one.
GMalatrasi
09-18-2007, 03:50 PM
I thought about another car but I couldnt see myself in anything else, not even an MSP could replace my P5.
I'll have to reinstall everything on the new one though... I guess it'll all go easier now that I've done it before.
You looking for a same color, or a different?
GMalatrasi
09-20-2007, 03:43 PM
I got the official word today: Totaled
Now I'm looking for a manual, silver, white or laser blue P5.
If anyone sees one for sale around Central FL let me know.
Thanks
I will keep my eye open for ya...!
was it all paid off? did you get any extra money from them?
GMalatrasi
09-20-2007, 04:41 PM
it was paid off... and I dont know what u mean by extra money but I'll get market value - depreciation - towing fees
There is 40 P5's listed with in 100 miles of me here in Ocala, I did see one in Largo that was a silver 5 speed for 8k with only 44K miles
GMalatrasi
09-21-2007, 12:22 AM
40?!?!
I've only found 10-15 and not all manuals 100-200 miles from me.
Where did u look?
On AutoTrader...but I did it from where my zip is so it opened up the Tampa area.
GMalatrasi
09-21-2007, 12:32 AM
I figured... Although if I set it to 200 miles it should get to tampa.
I kinda dont have a car to go see one in tampa though.
I can steal my roommate's truck to see some closer but tampa is pretty far, ocala isnt bad though.
Let me know if I can help I can try to do what i can...

Still looking for a White, Silver, or Laser blue P5 (manual).
Let me know if you see anything.
Thanks
Call Chad at Classic Mazda in Orlando 800-639-7000 he can find it for you, simply tell him that StreetUnit told you to talk to him, he will help you out as much as he can, if he doesn't already have one on the lot.

Nothing good yet...
For some reason they replaced the wiper lever with the sedan one so I cant use my rear wiper. So I have to find a way to fix that.
Also I got the shipping confirmation from SU for my Tokico HPs
the Espelirs are waiting for the shocks to get here.
New wheels are ready to be mounted. I can do that tomorrow.
Then set out a week for the turbo... Woohoo!!!!
