Orlando Cannonball run 4-19-07

This is not a race event, just a friendly speed limit enforced cruise around Orlando.

We would like to get a few, or more, people together to do a little group gathering. Tentative plan is to meet at one central location, somewhere in probably Sanford, and go around Orlando making several stops along the way to hang out and BS for a little while. Something different, something new. If it works out, maybe we can make it a monthly thing. I know that there used to be several places in Orlando that had hang outs on certain nights of the week and it always got broken up by the police because certain idiots ruined it for the majority that wasn't doing burnouts in public parking lots, etc. I personally miss those hangouts and would like to get a group back together to hang out and do a little cruising while we are at it. Just a thought, but let us know if you are interested, and bring as many as you want, any make, model, etc.

^^I agree. besides more people are out on either sat nights or sun morning, maybe end up in the beach or something on sunday morning.

First of all, it's Thursday, not Wednesday. Second, we have a meet in G-ville this weekend that alot of people committed to going to, including me. This was a last minute thing. Just in people that I have personally invited, we should have at least 4-5, without really including anyone that is on the forum. I am just trying to feel out the idea right now to see if it is even anything that people are going to like. Plan is, that if people like the vibe of it all, then we try and plan this one Sunday a month. Start out at 10am or so, find a place for lunch and continue on from there. I think we are going to make it a poker run. Basically, start at one spot, get a playing card. Have 4 more stops along the way, getting a playing card at each stop. The person with the best hand at the end of the run wins. Wins what, you ask? I dunno, to start out maybe a SU shirt and stickers, thinking about maybe even a trophy for the hell of it. If we can make this bigger and a monthly thing, maybe even sponsorship and give out gift certificates for restaurants or something, who knows. Anyway if you are interested and you have the time, we would love to have you and anyone else you want to bring. If it's me and one other person, oh well. You all will miss out on the first "Orlando Cannonball Poker Run"

If it works out like I hope it does, then we will try and do something diff every time. I have somewhat of an idea of where the 1st Sunday run could go. I am thinking start in Sanford, go out 46 into Lake County, pick up 441, go toward Apopka, pick up the 429, go out to 408 or Turnpike then find a swing around Orlando that way. But yeah, I think it would be kinda cool to do a run straight across 60. That could be our "Coast to Coast" run. Diff stuff. Let me know if you can come tomorrow night.

This sounds like a really good idea. I will be down in Orlando in May from the 17th to the 25th. Maybe we can schedule something for then. WE'll see how fast I can make it to FLA on that trip.
