does anyone know if the fog light beams can be angled? one of my friends said he thinks there is a plate in the housing to change where the beam reflects. anyone done this or know anything about it?
Tengo
03-21-2007, 09:19 PM
yeah if u look up real close you will see a lil housing over the bulb which only lets the fog light face down u know, u have to take yur bumper off to get to the fogs, and wehen u do, pop the bulb out temporaliy and just stick your finger in there a move the lil hpusing up so now the bulb is fully exposed!

threw a effin CEL today. joy!!!! wtf cud it be!?!?! guess i get to get up early b4 work and go have it read
Raider
05-29-2007, 08:10 AM
Well, you have a header, possibly that is throwing it. Or, it is the cause of the weird noise, squeak, rattle odidty you have had forever.
amsgator
05-29-2007, 09:05 AM
it was the 02 sensor.... it said
DTC (Codes)
P0140
O2 Sensor CKT No Activity
(Bank 1 Sensor 2)
DTC Pending (Codes)
No Faults Detected
so is the sensor screwed and i need a new one? the CEL didnt pop back on on the way home, so i am guessing it will take another 100 or so miles for it to come back on
Raider
05-29-2007, 09:11 AM
Probably need to drill the non-fouler out more around the O2 sensor.
amsgator
05-29-2007, 09:48 AM
it took like a thousand miles to throw it, kinda weird. what can you use to clean it? maybe it's clogged like jeg thought his was.
Raider
05-29-2007, 10:05 AM
Doubt it is clogged. I have no idea waht to use, as the chemical might damage it. I say Seafoam it!!

got a >?< does running the a/c make the engine temp cooler? my engine temp today was cooler than normal and it was the first time a really ran the a/c continuously since its hot as hell here right now!!! so i was j/w. gues it's better than OVERheating<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
P.S. no CEL back on in 250 miles. hope i didnt just jynx myself
Raider
06-07-2007, 01:20 PM
It puts more of a strain on the engine when compressing, it shouldn't make it colder. The dash gauge is not always 100% dead on. Get a temp gauge, it is probably running the same.

well i adjusted my exhaust as best i could, i only have one thing left to try before i replace the front muffler hanger w/ the stock one. i have about 3-3.5 mm of clearance of the pipe and the chassis body above the crossmember. how much does it expand when hot? i'm hoping this will be enough http://www.mazdas247.com:8080/smilies/frown.gif anyone know about how much the pipe expands?
PurrfectAngel
06-08-2007, 12:41 PM
3-3.5 mm is way too close:( cause it moves around when driving eh.
I think it's 20mm but don't quote me on it.
Note if you can't get much more clearance which is often the case with performance exhausts make sure you put some good heat wrap on it.
She is right it has to be closer to 20mm...!
amsgator
06-08-2007, 01:32 PM
i didnt even have 20mm w/ my stock hangers. it may be more, it's not quite a cm though, not sure i just eyeballed it. the katboy hangers keep it from moving around, it just vibrates so if it is too close it will vibrate against the chassis, it's not a bang or clunk it just rubs and vibrates.
amsgator
06-08-2007, 01:33 PM
i doubt i'll be able to get the kb hangers off, so idk how i am gonna get the heat wrap on it...and where to get it from?
amsgator
06-08-2007, 01:34 PM
She is right it has to be closer to 20mm...!
dont u have the racing beat? will u take a picture of yours where the pipe goes above the rear crossmember so i can see how close it is to the chassis above the pipe?
When i get home i will take a picture of mine for ya. However I have to say mine was made from the MP3 exhaust not the actual P5 RB exhaust.
amsgator
06-08-2007, 02:00 PM
o. hm... it doesnt rub all the time which is why i think any little bit will help. it hits around 3300 rpms when the engine and all is hot and sometimes it hits at idle, but it's not a contant thing. if i'm not between 3200-3600 rpms and not at idle it doesnt vibrate and crap and doesnt make the noise either. :(
here is a picture of mine. i cant figure out why it is so close...why such a big difference?? :(
Raider
06-08-2007, 06:49 PM
AARON. Did you install the rear motor mount to resolve the problem with your engine being all out of whack? If not, get it done, then work on the exhaust more.
amsgator
06-08-2007, 07:46 PM
if i had 100 dollars to drop i would. until then i have to do what i can. a motor mount wouldnt make the exhaust go lower, if anything it would raise it since it supports it more upright. so, waiting on pics Chris. thx

2 totally off topic posts....
OK Aaron. Your mount is fooked. Car under warranty. Take it
in, get stock one replace at least.
AJ, get the 1st ones in your thread.
Raider, get offline, you are drunk and your wife wants you to hang with her.
amsgator

they wont take the warranty for the mounts b/c of the header i am sure.
Chris, are you sure it is supposed to be 20mm, that is 2cm, if there was that much room the S-pipe would be so low below the car it's not even funny. and how are these off topic? what's the thread for, seemed like a discussion thread to me.
Raider
06-08-2007, 10:17 PM

lol. true. well no rattle/rub today since i adjusted the s pipe. monday i might adjust the midpipe to give it a little more just in case. i'm soooo happy. it's been like 3 weeks that i've had to deal w/ it. its a pain to sit at a light and sound like an old clunker. lol. and actually being able to rev the engine w/o it rubbing :)
o raider, btw, i found a 23mm socket at lowes for 5 bux and some change. didnt get it, still havent been able to change the tranny fluid, effin sux. had to work in the morn but this week i have a day off so i can do it then :)

SOOOOOO f'ing tempted to do this. Too bad we have emissions up here.
My p5 has 47k miles, give or take a few. Espelir springs, tokico struts, dgm cf grill and eyelids. JDM tail lights, and OBX header. Stock rims in decent condition. Few dings and scratches though because people suck balls. Black on black 5 spd. Also forgot short shifter and msp shift knob. As well as oil change every 3k, have all records too.

LOL the Beauty of living in the Southern States. Most have no Emissions
But even when i lived in Houston for a year. There are allways people to know and ways around it.
Also Forgot to Mention
Timing belt was replaced at 73kmiles when i bought the car
and the Head and turbo is from a 93.
Previous owner had warped the head but put newer Stuff on :D
No problems at all with this Baby. She's a Fun one.
I would even go for a P5 automatic with leather(would be sweet But doubt i'll see that)
My car orginally had Leather seats but of coarse the Driver seat Wore out pretty bad over time. So i deciede to go with a cloth racing seat.
I'll post pics soon of interior. It looks Really nice and clean.'
The orginal Rear speakers and 6" stock sub were blown out when i got the car(age and Humidity)
So newer JBL's are in the doors and a 10 in the front which weight lighter (3-4lbs) than if the spare/floorjack and harware, was up front.

Aaron, you got a lot of other things to use the $100 for to get better performance you can get. Get your suspension set up, put it towards some springs that use stock struts. Pay someone to install the rear motor mount to replace the broken one. Spinner hubcaps from Wal Mart.

difficulty depends on where the mounting tab is broken....

that license plate holder magig rattles like a rattlesnake when you close the hatch lol. i took off the screws then screwed them back in tighter and it got ride of most of the rattle. its because there no screws holding the bottom half. i wonder why they didnt put screws on the bottom of it and only on the top?
