I've been thinking about this mod for a long time...

Basically, there can be some sort of a shield that would block off the driver's side fender area where the SRI would sit. Couple this with a air scoop (like Corksport's puddle sucker 3000), there should be a good change.

I see what you are saying...

Is that a tarp acting as a silicone hose?
If you need a hose we have them..

Tarp? You mean the heat reflective covering from Dei?

It doesnt look right in the picture, maybe its just the picture. But I have to ask is it really tied on with rope?

It's tied like a shoe lace. I know it looks strange, but it works.

Sigh....do you even know what sort of an intake I have under the "tarp?" Or what is connected to the intake? Or what is the size of the filter I have installed? Or how much lower the temperature is with the "tarp" than without? or how hot the intake gets without it?

No more comments from me here anymore.

Hey, we were just having fun, with ya don't get frustrated, it's your set-up and go with what works, don't let anyone get ya down about that, trust me I have seen things that would horify you, I have a friend that has a Civic that has his valve cover duck taped on, because he over torqued the cover bolts and broke like 4 of 8 or something.

Is that really your setup? I thought it was something you wrere thinking about. I am not sure if the SRI mounted to the radiator is going to cause more harm than good. Do you have any testing like dyno resules with or without it? That would be interesting to see. What do you mean by the "tarp"? What kind of filter do you have? I would hope a K&N or other high end one.

People are gonna comment on a setup in a public forum if it seems to appear improperly installed. All I can say is that i would not use a shoelace to mount something together. What is that for, anyway?

easy there..... I meant no harm by it. It was just a joke. I had no idea you had actually done this and based on what you said it seemed as though you were going to try something someone else had tried.....

Not to any more of an ass as you seem pretty steamed over something very much a joke but...... I would guess you dont have an intake and probably just a metal piping underneath the tarp. If it is anything like my AEM one it heat soaks off the engine and probably makes for warmer air than a PCV pipe would create. So if the tarp relieves any of that then cudoes I would not have tought of that. that is why people put the CRY02 setup on their intake to even drop the temp even more.

what is connected to the intake? do you mean the MAF sensor or the air filter?

size of the filter.....idk it is a picture how am I supposed to guess. I would guess it is a 3in but idk.

Like I said, if you have produced good numbers I would love to see something like that produced. heat soak can be a real *****. Doing something like this more universally would be a great product. I would think that tarp( thin plastic if Im correct never really even played with one) probably isnt the best choice but something a bit thicker maybe of fiberglass might produce some good results.... Ive seen people zip tie on intakes, use sticks to hold up fenders at shows, and super glue more things than I would like to think of. however, so long as they work.... who cares how you get to the end result.

It's an injen CAI converted to a SRI. Then it's connected to a turbohoses velocity stack with is topped with a 6 in k&N filter.

It's almost the same setup as cullen but he was using a modified cai with the turbohoses velocity stack.

Ryoga,
I have never seen that heat reflective covering before, just the DEI heat wrap. Is that BPV installed the correct way? Looks to be flowing the incorrect way.... check it out. I am confused by it.

My mistake cullen, the cover is from thermotec. The reflex bpv is installed the right way.
