Autocross 1/13/07

Alright guys, next meet/event will be next sunday on Jan 13th. As of now I am unsure of the times, but it will be hosted at the Zephyer's stadium where some local autox will be going on.

Ryan if you can chime in with some info on what's going down out there I'd really appreciate it. I'll be out there just spectating and snaping some pictures so make sure your whip is dressed to impress.

Bring a helmet if you plan to race along with some cash as I'm sure there will be some sort of fee. Specifics can be found trhough Ryan aka Rynosilver as to how much it will cost and what time it begins.

January 13th


preregister at www.dlb racing.com no space people
pre registration closes on friday jan 11th at midnight ask me if you need to know what class you are in

the event schedule goes as follows

8-9:00 registration and tech dont be late people being on time is important
9:15 drivers meeting (this will tell you when you run and when you work) if spectating you do neither but still attend so you know to keep your limbs in the car or you'll have a pissed off driver.

first car out at 10:00

i believe you will have to sign release forms even if you dont race

i look forward to seeing you all out there.

oh and bring a helmet if you have one.

pricing is 25 for scca members which i believe none of you are i could be wrong and for non members it is 35

and more importantly for those like me and ryan its free because we're not racing a few speeds will be out there too so everyone come hang out with me!!!! im making that hour long trip so suck it up and come

but i dnt push my car much, bc of the chance of the damn motor falling out, lol. the recall has been done, but guess who did it? PARETTI freaking Mazda...so who knows what kinda ass half job they did.

Dont worry about the motor mounts too much. Just make sure it was torqued down correctly and you will be fine. The recall was because the bolt was too loose and backing out, they didnt actually break.

Autox is fun, the worst that can happen is you may spin out and kill a couple cones, but i dont like cones anyways.

my friend in dallas thought the same thing, until his recalled bolt ended up coming out after 5 months of having the recall performed and his motor falling. /sigh

yes we took the top 3 spots because the TT was a no show as usual. brett Black mica took first witha 32.3 and i took second with a 33.057 and susy took 3rd with a 34.???

I have no autox experiance though. Will I be placed in a diffrent class than you guys? I have the lighter wheels, although same size, motor mount, and intake. I doubt they car about intake, but the lighter wheels and motor mount may put me in another class?

actually wheels the same diameter and size 18x7 i believe wouldnt change you. intake will and motor mount will also you'd be in stu i believe.

who cares about experience, just go! it was my first time autocrossing this weekend and i enjoyed it very much.

yeah only my 4th time. and i ran consistant 33's the whole day. my intentions were to take out that whole first turns cones. which didnt happen. that way i knew to slow down for the next run. but turns out the car handled it well.

an option on su's site i think it just covers the filter its like 33 bucks so i didnt order it. and if you havent had water problems i doubt i will.

hey ryan i got a blue prefilter i'd sell it to you cheap if you want it, i got a bigger filter so it doesn't fit and it's just laying around
