are you wanting shocks and struts for drag racing, autoX, or just an overall improvement?

all around performance, but i'm a big fan of the twisties... the way i look at it is if you can take turns like no tomorrow, going in a straight line shouldn't be too hard...

don't apologize, i wanna see them too, mystic cobras are sexy as hell...

well, the thing is, a really well set up autoX suspension can very well SUCK on the strip...twisties is all about no body roll or brake plunge etc...however drag racing you want the front to lift so you can plant the rear...no, lakewood makes some 50/50 shocks for improvement over factory but not a big upgrade...that might be a middle of the road shock/strut for you
and yeah, i do have an 04 mystichrome (not the 96mystic...close on the paint but there's a few differences)

SO hot..... one of the few cars that can pull that off. I love the matching interior. O yeah and the blower is kinda nice too I guess.

eh...i've had fun with the blower on more than a few occasions lol. i can't keep from FI cars my DD is the speed6 (intake only with open D/P) but it makes for a fun family car/grocery getter

i'm much more interested in taking turns, straight line performance is nice, but it says something if you can rape an FF on a road course with an FR

definitely go coilovers then, check out some hefty sway bars if there are any (i'm not sure on this honestly) and then ALWAYS some good road race-type tires. The nitto NT-01 on the road course is their equivalency of the 555R on the drag strip
yeah, i own a mazdaspeed6 as a daily driver that i'd like to modify to have some fun with but i'm still nearly 100% a mustang guy lol

do you have any experience with the Eibach sway bars? i figure they would be a good match with my springs from them...
and would i have to get coil overs or could i just get better struts? i'm not looking to track the car daily, in fact, for now, the car is still my daily driver so i don't want the ride quality of coil overs if i can get decent performance out of a badass strut...

i dont' have any experience with the eibach sway bars honestly. if you want to stay away from coilovers then yes, good shocks and struts would be the way to go, and if you're into autoX and road racing, you might think about swapping your Solid Rear Axle with the Independent Rear Suspension. if you were to do that, you could pick you up some 2000 Cobra R shocks, struts, and springs and have a field day with something that came stock on one of fords vehicles. many terminator guys have done the 2000 R swap and been VERY pleased. i tend to stick with the stock sways as there aren't any road/autoX tracks anywhere near here and the drag strip is only 40 minutes away.

i fear for when he finally puts the hammer down... there's a reason a lot of cobras look for junkyard GTs... and it sure ain't the motor...

if it's the factory IRS out of the cobras, with just little things like the IRS brace, they're very capable rear ends. people hate the IRS for the fact of the halfshafts, but if you take some basica precausionary measures, you shouldn't have a problem: use slicks at the track, not drag radials (the biasply walls absorb the shock instead of the half-shafts) or run on street tires and just let it spin; use some basic bolt on parts for the suspension/rear end to help out (billetflow brace for the pumpkin, billetflow IRS brackets [stiffer and allow less flex], polyurethane/delrin/aluminum IRS pieces [these replace the stock rubber and don't allow the IRS to hop any more]; and the big one is level 5 half-shafts which runs about $1000. However, the stock shafts are capable of getting you well into the 10's if driven right.

he had questions, questions were answered...therfore no talky. however...i'm looking for a donor GT to do the SRA/IRS swap not really to get away from the IRS but i could use the weight-loss mostly, and that 150-160lbs. you lose going to SRA is VERY attractive for dropping times even more

No, I was trying to see if anyone is still talking about Mustangs in here. I have 2, a 1965 notch and a 1993 5.0 notch. I just got rid of my MS3 and was wondering what else SUForums has to offer. Sorry to make anyone angry...

nobody's angry. I would have a mustang but compared to the MS6 the insurance is $1100 more a year.
