Mazda3 Fuel Computer Hack

Just wanted to make sure all of the 2006+ non-GT owners know about this.

Unlock your fuel computer:
1. Turn the ignition to On (without engine running)
2. Hold down FM/AM & CD at the same time for 5-seconds
2a. You should get an audible beep
3. After beep, release and turn off vehicle.
4. Turn ignition to On and use "Set" to select fuel economy modes

That's it! Hope this helps. If the information is old news, feel free to delete this thread. I did a few searches and didn't see much about the trip computer.

It basically just tells you how many miles you have left until empty & what your average gas consumption is.

didnt work...did it a few times, no luck, even holded down the set button for good measure. Any ideas?

A little more clear directions:

1. Get in car and close door.
2. Put key into ignition (DO NOT TURN YET!)
3. Hold down the AM/FM button AND the CD button.
4. With your other hand (while still holding the buttons) turn your key to the ACC position. The Hello message will appear on your display, and as soon as it goes away it will be replaced by DIS ON.
5. You may now let go of the AM/FM button and CD button.
6. Turn ignition off.
7. Turn your car on and drive away! :D

What year/model do you have? This unlock only works on 04-08 s/hatch models and 06-08 i models.

they all can do it, GT or not, 2L or 2.3

speeds too and 07 08 can also do it

the 6 should work too
