They are seriously going to screw themselves if the get rid of the 4G63, that is like the trademark of the Evo.

I can am sure the the evo X will resmemble the previous generations much more than what everyone expects. The pics that you see all over of the concept X are way too "concepty", it is a concept car not the real deal. The things I hate about the new evo X are all the new active controls, the car practically drives its self, why don't they just throw an automatic slush box in it and call it a day. I hope mitsubishi does not forget that the Evo is a racecar, and last time I checked racecar drivers have skill and don't need super active traction control, and super active never lock up your brakes system, and super active no drifting through turns systems, and super bla bla bla sytems.

I would not be suprised if Mitsubishi left the outside the same, that is the new thing to do, for example, the new eclipse, the new xB, and the new civic Si. However, I could see them changing the interior.

Grill looks like ass. What size is that new motor code. I read in this week's Automobile mag that they are going to use the 2.0 again, or is that new engine code a variation of the 4G63 2.0L?

the original poster said they are going to change it around and put a whole new engine in it, that will suck!

That is going to leave the EVO9 guys hanging in the breeze. Nobody is going to put out big$ for R&D for a motor that is no longer produced. Look at the time delays on getting a good set of cams for that MIVEC. WTF???? Why can't they leave a good thing alone. I mean dollar for dollar the 4G63 bolt ons are producing way more output that the SCOOBY bolt-ons.

Wasn't the MIVEC 4G63 engine faster than the previous anyway?

The concept X is absolute sex on wheels. The side profile reminds me of the Mazda6 hatchback in all the right ways. YUM! ... I reeeally hope I have loads of cash sitting around when this comes out :) It would be my first mitsu.

no im not trying to advertise a different site but i read the post on www.evolutionm.net and in their future models part of the form, thats were i first read of the new engine. there is some good stats to back it up. 9 pages of replys so you could read that and make up your own mind, nothing is offical we must remember. like i said im not trying to advertise a different site, i only say this because on other boards if you recomend anyother site they delete the post.

I am dissapointed in the looks, I really love the 7,8,and 9 look. I have always loved the older models. I really dislike the x. I would trade for my 8. In fact I am looking for a 5 or 6.

ugly
just read the car and driver test of the X and I found out that the rumors of the car being in the 12's from the factory are false... with the gsr that they tested, it ran a 13.8 at 103 or something like that. but the X did receive more power and torque out of the new motor... 295hp and 300lb/ft.. and the car si keeping it's 30k price too

Everyone has said it's "slower" then the old XI in a straight line..but in the corners they said its stupid fast and controlled now. As a side (and depressing) note...I have the XLS Outlander and it has the same 6 speed paddles...they're nice. Really nice. If I wanted a $32k commuter, I'd so buy the Evo.....but instead I found a $22k commuter with the same power....MS3 rules over all in fairy land...someone start a thread on the Ghey SRT-4 (the new one)

the new SRT4 looks like the CX7s retarded cousin..... thats more than enough discussion of that fugly thing right there ;)
as for the EVO X........ I forsee the 4G powerplant finding its way into a rally art Eclipse or maybe it will find its way into the lower rung Evo that is coming out(rumor is boosted FWD). The new powerplant is rather odd and clutchless trans seems like their "fix" for the issues that evo owners have with clutchs. One of the few cars keeping the mitsu line alive I would assume it will have some serious performance to justify the choices made

I heard its got about as much computers on the wheels and the drivetrain as a Ferrari, and thats why it so well behaved. IMO, I hate cars with a lot of gizmos and traction control, and all that shinnanigans that stick you to the road. Can drive fast, dont drive fast, but I liek me cars with no p/s, no traction control, aftermarket LSD and some fat tires to burn. under and over steering FTMFW
