This is to determine if we have sufficient interest in a StreetUnit Dyno Day at Speed Clinic in Kissimmee, FL. Post if you're interested in having you car dyno'd, or tuned, post your car type, or if you just want to hang with us.
I have contacted Speed Clinic and Jester Tuning about a StreetUnit Forum Dyno Day. They have agreed on a candidate date and have provided the following information:
Suggested Date: Saturday, June 7th 2008
Start Time: 9:00AM until Whenever

Speed Clinic has an in-ground AWD Dynojet! They may be broadcasting the entire event live on their website via Live Streaming Dynocam and posting pictures/video from the event afterwards.
JestR Tuning will be available for tuning services during dynoing to perform real-time tuning on the dyno. I will update with JestR's prices. He plans to support Stock Mazda ECUs, UniChips, and other systems. He can tune most cars, Nissans, Mitsus, Subarus, and many others. If you have an EVO, he is known as one of the best EVO tuners around.
If you have another type of car, including American cars, we can invite Sniper Tuning to participate with their tuning system. Our '06 Mustang got a custom tune from Sniper and it is performing better all around (acceleration and gas mileage has improved).
There will be free food and drinks, and our StreetUnit.com buds will be available for consultation. Here is a map showing Speed Clinic's location.

Sounds interesting. Can he tune the stock ECU on the speed6? I thought it couldn't be done without the standback. I might beable to do it if i can b first. Gotta be to work by 12. But i would love to know how much power I am putting dwon. And causing me to break everything.

Times slots can be alloted as needed Plat. JestR tuned a Mazda6 last week. I'll see what he says about Speed6's.

Yeah, if he can tune the factory ECU for the MS6's I think I'd def. be down for it. Let us know what the cost for tuning factory MS6 ECU's will be (providing it can be done), as I'd like to get my bolt-ons tuned.

Man if I could have everything installed and my Unichip Imight just make that ride down there as much as I keep hearing yall talk about that guy at Jester tuning. But alass it doesn't seem that will happen.
Rhoadblock I like the way you painted your wheels they look a lot like my Konig Hotswaps that way.

Great, Mark!
SneakyP86, what if we can get you some help with your installs also? It would be great to do a before and after. Say, run your car stock, then do the installs right there, then run it with everything installed to see how much power you've gained?
BTW, I believe the event will be broadcast live on a webcast.

Capt. that sounds good but I'd hate to put people through all that to be honest, you don't know the list of installs I'm stting here staring at. Besides I don't think my manifold or DP will be back from ceramic coating yet.Plus I have no clue when the Unichip is gonna ship. But I would love to just don't think it would bbe possible.Although I would be up for the ride down there.

Wondering the same thing. Danno, I know you're still getting details and whatnot, just saying remember to ask Jestr if the factory ECU's for the 6/MS6's can be tuned...I didn't think they could and I don't have an EMS yet. Let us know what Jestr says regarding this. Hopefully they can, but we'll see. I should still be able to make it out there at least for the dyno pulls & meet a few more SUF members.

Got it guys.... M6, MS6, M3, and MS3 ECUs. I'll get the info. BTW, Sniper Tuning is starting to write a program for the ECU in my MSP. They assessed it today and may have a program written in a few weeks to tune the car directly using the ECU. I'll keep you posted.

there are dyno sheets already around...
EDIT: the links for the actual sheets are broken, but here are the numbers posted with them
Car 1: 126.3 HP AND ~160 TORQUE
MODZ: RRM PULLY AND PIGGY, INJEN EXHAUST AND CAI
Car 2: 122.1 HP AND ~160 TORQUE
MODZ: INJEN CAI AND GREDDY EXHAUST
Car 3 (CVT): 100.5 HP AND ~130 TORQUE
MODZ: RRM PULLY AND PIGGY, INJEN CAI AND A CUSTOM SUPER SHOP EXHAUST
there are 2 problems with these numbers..
first of all this was taken on a DYNO-DYNAMICS dyno... people say that this is not as accurate as a dyno jet... i dont know how true is this...
second... these were all PZEV (cali spec) lancers.. they come with less HP than the FED (all the rest) lancers.
this makes me want to test my car, but 50$ right now is a bit hard to pull out at the moment...

LOL CVT only got 100whp w/ all of that??? That means ur under that. Dyno-Dynamics isn't a bad dyno, no 2 dynos will read the same. Everyone likes dyno jet b/c it gives you higher readings than all others, doesn't mean that it's better. IMO if you really want to dyno tune ur car you should use a Heart Breaker (Mustang Dyno) and brag about the numbers u pull off of that!!!!!!!!

No... read again.. these are PZEV cars.. they have less hp than the FED (min is FED) these cali spec lancers have a mess in their exhaust and have less than my lancer... around 15hp less... although they all have mufflers, they still have the 2 cats and all the other mess...
anyways my car should read about 120fwhp... 17.1 ftmfw

I'll get the answers on the various CPU questions. Also, the cost of doing a dyno run on a RWD car should be the same as a FWD car.
Interests noted. I think we are close to making a decision. Just need one or two more and we will be able to start a sing up sheet thread.

OK, here is the list of people that have expressed interested in the dyno day:
Rhoadblock
Platspeed
StreetUnitMark
reyan
H3LLFiR3
Mazdaspeed2.3tb
aaronc7
Captdanno
Sneakyp86 wants to attend
This does not indicate anyone has made a commitment to dyno, just that we have interest in this event.
I think we need at least 2 more with interest in going on the dyno to say we will have enough cars for the day when the sign up sheet is posted. So is there anymore interested from you guys in putting your car on the dyno at Speed Clinic on 7 June?
I'll be talking to JestR Tuning and Sniper Tuning about the Mazda CPUs this week.

Are there any other services or activities ya'll like to see at the Dyno Day that might spark interest? Like having a race car or two there? There may also be some nurses on hand in case of an emergency.....

I am still trying to get the information on the ECUs. The answer to the Mazda6 ECU is that Sniper Tuning has the ability to tune Mazda6 ECUs.

Does that include the Speed6's ECUs? IIRC the Speed's Ecu is different than the N/A 6's right? If they can tune factory Speed ECU's I think I'm down to get tuned. Sorry to sound like a PITA w/ all my ?s.

Yes, the Speed6 is different. In my discussions with the tuner (Sniper)that specializes in tuning Ford (sorry for using the "F" word) related ECUs, they are planning to generate the software (maps or whatever) to do the various Mazdas which use essentially ECUs from that other domestic car company. He is using my MSP to develop the tools for tuning MSP's for example. He soon may be looking for someone's Speed6 and Speed3 to develop the tuning tools for those ECUs.

Oh well, I'll just have to get myself a CP-E PnP EMS soon then. I just checked my schedule & I am free that weekend so I'm about 95% sure I'll be there. It'll probably be just for a dyno session since the OEM Speed ECUs can't be tuned, and to chill with some fellow SUF members! Maybe I'll do a before & after custom TIP to see if there were any actual gains from it...

I received the following information from Speed Clinic about this question:
"Hey Dan,
Yes we can put the wideband in for nothing additional upon request. It will then print a dyno chart with air fuel #s."
Hope this answers your question, Steve.
