Having received several posts on the thread I started to see if people were interested in getting their cars dyno'd, I am starting this thread for people to get on the list of cars to go on the Speed Clinic dyno on 7 June.

Come and see what your car is putting out on the dyno, get your car tuned to improve your performance, or just come to hang out with us and have some food.

Please post or PM me your SU user name, your real first name, your car type/year and possibly any engine or exhaust mods that effect performance, etc. Indicate if you are interested in working with a tuner during the event. Please indicate if you have a time issue (like; "Gotta be at work by noon", or something like that), so we can time things to support your schedule. First post/PM gets preference in the event of a timing conflict. Not valid in Rhode Island.

If there are 8 to 10 cars signed up to go on the dyno by Sunday (5/11), I will inform Speed Clinic and the tuners that we are confirming the event.

Speed Clinic has an in-ground AWD Dynojet! They may be broadcasting the entire event live on their website via Live Streaming Dynocam and posting pictures/video from the event afterwards. There will be free food and drinks, and our StreetUnit.com buds will be there and available for consultation. Here is a map showing Speed Clinic's location.

JestR Tuning will be available for tuning services during dynoing to perform real-time tuning on the dyno. I will update with JestR's prices. He can tune most cars, Nissans, Mitsus, Subarus, and many others. If you have an EVO, he is known as one of the best EVO tuners around. JestR has the ability to custom tune using late model UniChips as well. He may be able to tune older UniChips (like mine) by then.

I am waiting to hear from Sniper Tuning to see if they can be there. They can tune Mazda6's (not Speed6's at the moment) and are working on being able to tune other Mazda stock ECUs. They are expert in tuning most domestic brands. Our '06 Mustang got a custom tune from Sniper and it is performing better all around (acceleration and gas mileage has improved).

*cosmicspd, I don't know anyone who is tuning MS3 ECUs at the moment. You may be able to get a UniChip from StreetUnit that can do the job, though.

Got a Mustang or GM car, pretty much any domestic car, EVO, or even a diesel? If so, you can have Sniper Tuning tune your vehicle on the dyno at this event. More info to come shortly.

OK, I'll add Zach to the list.

Sniper charged my wife $200.00 for the tune on her Mustang. They program this nifty little green module with all the characteristics of the car, plug it into the diagnostic port under the dashboard, and download the data into the ECU. It has had a significant effect improving gas mileage and performance.

danno, do you know if we'd be able to use a "sniffer"? i need to know this because the only reason i NEED to dyno my car is to find out my A/F ratio at WOT... numbers would just be a bonus...

I received the following information from Speed Clinic about this question:

"Hey Dan,
Yes we can put the wideband in for nothing additional upon request. It will then print a dyno chart with air fuel #s."

Yes, they have the big fan that goes in front of the car while it's on the dyno. The ice sounds like a great idea, though!

Just talked to Speed Clinic about the ECUflash for the EVO X. The guy I spoke to has an X and said it is not available yet. He said he had to "send the car to Chicago to get it tuned. It is too new for the software to be out yet."

Check with StreetUnit about a UniChip for your car. It can be programmed for mods. The tuners, Sniper and JestR, are working to eventually tune the Mazda6 ECU. Don't know exactly when they will be able to do this.

As for what Speed Clinic, or another shop in the area, can do for your car, Anything's possible. What did you have in mind?

I either want to put a cat-back on then run it for one of my 3 pulls. or just take off my mufflers. Also should have the intake. and i would be nice to get a chip to remap the maf and also the speed-cut to be taken off.

no one has found a way to override the limiter yet. It's said that the Sniper tuner should be able to but i haven't been keeping up on how that's been coming along. also Sniper isn't done w/ the tuner yet but it is very close to being here. it's in its final stages

Check with StreetUnit about a UniChip for your car. It can be programmed for mods. The tuners, Sniper and JestR, are working to eventually tune the Mazda6 ECU. Don't know exactly when they will be able to do this.

Unichip is for the 6s, not the 6i, and even then...Sniper is working on it but I've never heard anything about JestR doing it.

I either want to put a cat-back on then run it for one of my 3 pulls. or just take off my mufflers. Also should have the intake. and i would be nice to get a chip to remap the maf and also the speed-cut to be taken off.

Gains from exhaust are minimal to nonexistent. Take a look at our stock exhaust: it's nearly perfect. I opened mine up to 2.5" with no cat and no resonator and didn't see any gains.

no one has found a way to override the limiter yet. It's said that the Sniper tuner should be able to but i haven't been keeping up on how that's been coming along. also Sniper isn't done w/ the tuner yet but it is very close to being here. it's in its final stages

Microtech can supposedly remove the limiter. But for $1400, then install, then tune...you can see why there's not much knowledge on it.

Removing the limiter on a stock 6i is a very poor idea. It takes long enough to get there and why you'd feel the need to go any further is beyond me.

John at Jester has been working very hard gathering the tools (mostly software and maps) to custom tune cars with Unichips. He has received a lot of technical support and software from Cullen at StreetUnit, and from various Unichip sources. I'm taking my car to him tomorrow so he can build the software, and some hardware, to interface with the Unichip in my car. It's an older one, so he should have less difficulty in working with the newer Unichips. Sniper is going to look at my son's Protégé5's ECU as well as the one in my Mazdaspeed Protégé to use them to generate the capability to reflash them since he believes they are the same ECUs as were in some Fords (sorry, I used the "F-word" again)..

Feel free to contact either JestR (407-413-9713), and/or Sniper (407-321-5725), about the cars you would like to see them be able to tune for you. They work closely together and are aware of what each other is doing.

As for tuning options, JestR will be able to custom tune Unichip equipped cars by then. Sniper is going to be working on both our Protege5 and MS Protege next week to be able to reflash their ECUs in time of the Dynoday. There is not a way to tune M6's and MS6's or M3's and MS3's at the moment. I will continue to update if this situation changes, or if anyone knows someone who can tune them and can give me a contact.

Sniper has been working on getting tuning available to Mazdas, and have successfully completed testing on the RX-8 and MX-5, and my car has been the lab rat to get the Mazda6 added to that list. I can vouch for them being extremely well knowledgeable. With any luck, they may be tuning some first time Mazdas at this meet.

Hmm...I'm not sure if I'll be installing the catch can while I'm there. I'm sure we could knock it out, but I'll be headin straight from there to Miami to chill with some buddies of mine. I'll just do the OCC myself, and when I actually have everything I need for the install, and have finally decided on a location to install it.

I don't want to install the springs there either cause I'll need to get an alignment soon thereafter, and don't wanna drive all the way to Miami and back to Brandon without one.

I'll just head out there to get myself dynoed and to hang out with the SUF crew and have some lunch.
