I posted this on the Mazdaforum, but just wanted to pass on to others. I know "things happen" but the lack of customer service is getting very frustrating.

Yes i cannot believe it. It is in for its first checkup and i get a call that it was hit by a towtruck. Corey Fairbanks Mazda is saying it is not their fault and are not really helping on the customer service side. The customer service lady was doing great until she told my wife "The general manager said that's why you have insurance, plus we are not responsible for any damage to your car because it states that when you sign the paperwork". There are really leaving us hanging right now. The car is only a couple months old with 2000 miles on it. The tailgate and rear quarter panel both have to be replaced. Be careful bring any Mazda to Corey Fairbanks Mazda as who knows what could happen. Sorry just had to vent.

Sounds like my local dealer. They are suck balls stupid. I have a CX-7 thread there still I think about my 1st warranty repair after 2 weeks. I understand how lousy dealers can be after the sale. I knew more about the car than the service manager. They will never touch any of my cars, ever again.

I was referred highly by several people who have purchased cars from them, as well as Kerry, the service master tech there (also on SU Forums as MrKA-T) to go to Classic Mazda, where I put my deposit down on the Speed3.

My overall impressions of Classic Mazda is outstanding. They keep me in the loop on ordering, etc. I would give them a call and see if they can help with a good body shop if they do not do the repairs there. Chad Rogers is the GM there. Ask for him, tell him Eric who ordered the silver speed3 gt with nav from street unit sent you there. I am sure he will take care of you.

As for Fairbanks, it is their responsibility to make sure your car is safe. I would call mazdausa on them, file a complaint, call the better business bureau, local media such as the Sentinal or even TV stations, as well as have your insurance go after them. The tow truck driver's company is most likely responsible for repairing it. Go after them, too. If you raise enough of a stink, you get what you want.

Are you freakin kidding me?

Call Prblem solvers right now. Then Call the General Manager. Then call the cops, they failed to report an accident that they and the tow truck driver were both part of. The tow truck driver left the scene so he wouldnt get a ticket and be held liable. etc.

They are responsible its called negligence. if they put your car in the middle of the road and a semi runs over it, they were responsible for leaving it in the middle of the road.

If this doesnt solve it call their insurance company and get a lwyer to handle it.

Well apperently there is a piloce report, yet I have not seem it. The Customer Serivce agent called this morning to "clear some confusion" about things said last night. She said that the me wife took the general manager's words out of context and that really this is all they could do. She also admitted that afterwards (the incident) that the car was taken to Courtesy Collision Center to be checked out. The customer serivce agent then brought it back for "us" to decide where to take (I have never had a car damaged so I have no clue). She does seem to try to help the situation however I hear too much sorry , sorry sorry. Just fix the problem and stop saying sorry. The wife comes home tonight and we are goingto figure out what to do. They recommended another shop in Longwood, who works on really high end cars, but they said it could take 2 months to get repaired. THIS SUCKS!!!!

dont take care of it yourself. Require them to handle everything and ensure that you also get diminshed value from the incident and their insurance company. This is a requirement of the insurance company to pay in flroida if their insurance doesnt want to pay it call the state attounreys office. Its the law.

I would not take the car to the place that slimeball dealer recommended, no matter what. 2 months to fix that? It is not that bad imo. You need to start making a huge stink everywhere, especially with mazda usa. They owe you a qualified repair!

Sorry to hear you've fell victim to them as well, in the future Id deff go w/ Classic too...they were awesome.

Your right it does not look like much, but both the tailgate and the rear quarter panel are damaged so both need to be replaced. What really sucks is I cannot do anything until monday when everyone is open. I just want ot get thos overwith. Right now I am driving some POS mazda 6 from the rental car place. That is what Corey Fairbanks gave me for a loaner car when my car was in for maintence. They do not have loaner cars.

call their insurance company and the tow truck drivers insurance and mazda usa and demand that it be fixed 110% and that you want diminished value for your brand new car, no matter how well they fix it a pro can tell there was a repair and you will loose in the end. Then call the better buisiness buerow (how ever you spell it) and problem sovlers, and the states attourney.

You do all of that and i am pretty sure that they will get it taken care of. Just think that an average car dealer spends over 10k per month for positive advertisement. the last thing that they need is this getting out when they can take care of it no problem.

Can someone please explain what this "diminished value" means? I have never heard of it. And how should I bring it up.

Here's the lastest update on my saga. I found a local body shop that does excellent work and Amazing customer service. The car is over there now and being taken care of. I got a call from AAA which damaged the car and they are all set, do whatever it takes to make you happy attitude. Again they are trying to make the best of the situation. Now for Corey Fairbanks. The customer service rep is trying her best, although she is now the brightest girl. She is doing everything she can to make me happy but the lack of communciation in that dealership is amazing. I got a call yesterday from a girl in the serivce department claiming the part I ordered was in and my cacr would be ready today. LOL ahh what part did I order? She said the part for the door (I guess the TSB on the door) was in and that everything was all good. Now I was told the car was finished and that everything was done. After she went through some more records she realized that it was a "paper" mistake. She said I could come and get my car. I told her my car was at a body shop because it was damaged in your lot. She have never heard of it. This place is messed up.

Diminished value and make sure they replace the metal not bondo or fill.

If you dont get diminished value, make 100000000000000% that they completely remove any weather stipping and buff all of the paint glassy smooth around the edges top bottom left and right, make sure that they check the trunk and door jambs also. otherwise when you sell the car, thats an easy give away that there was work done. Also, you may want to take before and after pictures of the damage, that way if you do sell, you can show the pics if the buyer believes that the car was in a major accident etc. you can show them the repair and damage was minor.

We called our own insurance and asked "if this happened" and they said there is no diminished value in the state of florida , only GA. We found an excellent body shop in which the owner personnally took us around the shop and showed the work he does. The shop was Daya's in Longwood and they were very professional. At first he looked at the damage and thought not too bad, but now he thinks there is some more internal damage and wants to check everything out to make sure it is done correctly. He has been calling me and updating me as well. Thanks we have before photos for if we ever sell the car. Hopefully we are keeping this car for awhile. I have had most of my cars for about 5-10yrs so I hope to so the same with this one.

Dont check with the insurance company check with the state attourneys office. There was a huge deal in the new here in florida about it and they aired it stating that it was required by law.

It may have changed since then but the big stink was that the insurance companies were not offering it even though it was required by law. remember the insurance companies are there to make them money not give it away.

Generally if you make a big enough stink (especially on the sales floor) dealers will take care stuff. I have a friend with a CX-7, and he'd being screaming until they gave him the keys for a different, entirely brand new CX-7.

Yeah, because being removed by a police officer and trespassed from the building will do wonders to help your case...
