i got a forge wastegate the other day and it came in today...really fast shipping. anyways before i insatll it i want to make sure of something, to lower the boost pressure i would want to make the rod longer and to increase i would make the rod shorter correct?

so saturday i was putting in my new forge wastegate and i get the hot pipe off and the heat shield thats over the manifold. put the car in the air to get the arm on the acuator off the pin on the turbo and when i get it up in the air and look at it...it seems like you may need to take off the manifold or pull the turbo to get to it since its a real and i mean real tight spot. i tried for like and hour to get to it but nothing and i dont feel like pulling the turbo....i would have pulled the manifold but didnt have a gasket so i think im ganna pick one up and do it that way. if anyone has done this and found an easier way please please let met know. lol

so today i got my manifold gasket and turbo port gasket total of $16.87. i plan taking the manifold off and getting at it that way. All Data ( which is a website desigend to give you step by step procedures and is mainly used in shops and not for personal use beacuse it breaksdown the vehicle so you can find anything you need...mainly labor charges...for those who dont know wat it is) anyway All Data says as most people know theres a service bulletin on the factory wastegate to sum it up the factory ones suck ass and fail so get a new one and not the factory one or the updated one it does the same thing when its gets used... breaks lol.. so it tells you how to replace it...which is wrong by the way well not completly but the section on removing the wastegate is very very wrong. but it quotes only 1 hours worth of labor. i dont see it taking one hour. if by taking the manifold off doesnt work..which im pretty sure it will but if it doesnt then its not going in cuz pulling the turbo is like 6-8 hours worth of work and this car is my everyday driver and i cant go with out it. but ill keep everyone posted and up to date....if i can figure out how to add pictuures ill provide complet step by step instructions with pictures on how to replace this actuator.

My wastegate got in last week. I haven't turned up the boost controller to see if I get more power yet, but I hope to but it on the dyno some day soon to see how much more boost and HP I can make.
